a football fashion show

It’s almost the end of football season, with the 59th Super Bowl on February 9th, and a lot has happened since the season started. Between the Bengal’s dominating offensive team and their agonizing defensive performance to the Commanders playing rough against the Eagles while the refs threaten to award points, there's a lot to discuss.
However, as much as I love football and sports in general (WHO DEY!), I am an even bigger fan of the fashion scene, and it seems that many players are crossing their worlds and combining sports and fashion. In the past few seasons, NFL and professional sports players have used their “tunnel walks” to show off their sense of style. The quick walk between the entrance of the venue to the locker room proves to the audience these two industries can come together unexpectedly.

A few NFL players that are the most talked about when it comes to their very own runway are Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles), and Stefon Diggs (Houston Texans). Burrow and Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings) even walked in the 2024 Paris Fashion Week Vogue World show in 2024.
One of the best moments between fashion and football is the rise of Joe Burrow’s iconic Cartier glasses. In 2022 when the Bengals were playing the Rams in the Super Bowl, fans rooting for the Cincinnati team were wearing the famous Cartier glasses, or an Amazon dupe, along with the black and orange colors to show their support for the team.

This moment is a prime example of the trickle-down theory in the fashion industry when a designer product marketed toward the upper class gains a significant amount of popularity. From this, dupes and knockoffs are created for those who can not afford designer prices. It’s surprising how much these two fields can integrate themselves into each other, but it is extremely exciting and captivating to watch.
It is refreshing to see these players showcase their style and who they are through their mini runway show before a game. Looking at the tunnel walks and seeing their looks might even give a little inspiration for your next outfit. Watch out! If you aren’t already, you might become a football fan or a fashion addict.
